Call for Sessions
The AAHFN Annual Conference Committee
requests session proposals for the 2011 Annual Conference!
Submission period opens: September 10, 2010
Submission period closes: October 10, 2010
Notifications: prior to December 15, 2010

Purpose
To allow active AAHFN members to propose and present at the Annual Conference
Audience and Topics
Proposals for sessions should address the needs of nurses and allied health professionals who care for patients with heart failure across the spectrum of care; inpatient settings, outpatient offices, diagnostic services, emergency departments, palliative care and home care. Topics may focus on clinical care; evidence based practice, summaries of research findings or the theoretical applications for the novice or experienced clinician.
Method
All session proposals will be reviewed by the AAHFN Annual Conference Committee, which will consider the merits of the proposal as well as the balance of topics presented at the conference in making decisions to accept or reject a proposal. The AAHFN Annual Conference Committee welcomes proposals from individuals who may not have been previously part of the AAHFN Annual Conference faculty. Only completed submissions will be reviewed.

The AAHFN Annual Conference Committee welcomes proposals from individuals who may not have been previously part of the AAHFN Annual Conference faculty. Only completed submissions will be reviewed.
Sessions are sixty (60) minutes in length with fifty (50) minutes for presentation and ten (10) minutes for question and answer, may not utilize more than a single meeting room, and will be placed during a concurrent session time period. The conference will be CNE accredited and therefore American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) essentials for planning the meeting must be followed. For details of ANCC requirements go to: www.nursecredentialing.org Faculty may not independently solicit funding for the program from industry, the government, or agencies without prior approval from the AAHFN Board of Directors.
Procedure
1. ONLINE APPLICATATION: Proposals must be submitted using this online submission site. Completed proposals must be submitted by midnight on October 10, 2010 -
2. OUTLINE: You will need to submit a 1-2 page outline of the session. Please e-mail your outline to Cheryl Gallagher at cgallagher@ahint.com no later than 11:59 PM EDT on October 10, 2010.

3. REFRENCES: References listed within the online application will be contacted by AAHFN and asked to complete an official Reference Form. Reference forms must be on file with AAHFN in order for the application to be eligible for review by the Annual Conference Committee. References should be professional in nature. The individual should be able to attest to your public speaking abilities. Two professional references are required.
